Our story
About BabyNapCalc
We're a small team building free sleep calculators for tired parents — simple tools that turn pediatric sleep guidance into bedtimes and wake windows you can actually use tonight.
Our mission
Parenting is exhausting enough without decoding sleep science at 2 a.m. BabyNapCalc exists to give parents a quick, trustworthy starting point: type in what you know — a wake-up time, a baby's age, a nap length — and get a practical schedule built on published guidance.
Everything here is free, with no account, no sign-up, and no upsell waiting at the end. We believe tired parents deserve answers in seconds, not paywalled PDFs. Our guides explain the "why" behind the numbers, so you can adjust confidently as your child grows.
We are an independent team, not a medical practice. What we do is translate widely published sleep recommendations into everyday tools — and tell you plainly when a question belongs to your pediatrician instead of a website.
How our tools are built
Each calculator starts from standard pediatric sleep guidance — published recommendations from sources like the American Academy of Pediatrics on how much sleep babies and children need by age, and the National Sleep Foundation's sleep-duration ranges.
Those totals are then broken down with straightforward 90-minute sleep-cycle math: the same cycle-based approach sleep researchers use to explain why waking between cycles feels easier than waking mid-cycle. Our wake-window ranges reflect the age-based windows most sleep resources describe, from newborns who tire after 45–90 minutes to toddlers who can comfortably handle several hours awake.
Every page also carries its assumptions openly, and you can read exactly how we write and review everything on our editorial policy page.
Important: our calculators provide planning estimates, not medical advice. They cannot diagnose or treat sleep disorders, and they don't replace your pediatrician. If your child snores loudly, seems excessively sleepy, or has trouble sleeping night after night, please consult a healthcare professional.
